Ebenso wie Sardinien von Invasionen heimgesucht wurde, wurde auch Monti im Laufe der Jahrhunderte mal vom Meer, mal von anderen Teilregionen der Insel aus erobert. Die Burg von Crasta steht 3 km s\u00fcdlich von Monti auf einer Anh\u00f6he von 490 m \u00fcber dem Meeresspiegel. In einer strategischen Position gelegen, beherrschte sie den so genannten \u201eKorridor oder Sattel von Monti\u201c und \u00fcberwachte die Verbindungswege zwischen der K\u00fcste und dem Landesinneren, womit sie Teil des Verteidigungsnetzes der Judikate von Torres und der Gallura war.
\nEntlang der malerisch gelegenen Wege, die von markanten Granitfelsen eingerahmt werden, sind Wasserf\u00e4lle zu sehen, die in einer k\u00fchlen, schattigen Umgebung zum Entspannen einladen.<\/p>\n
