Die Burg von Balaiana<\/strong> verdankt ihren Namen dem Gebiet, in dem sie steht, dem Land der Balari, einem alten sardischen Volk, das sich vermutlich vor der r\u00f6mischen Eroberung in der Gallura niederlie\u00df. Das Geb\u00e4ude profitiert von einer besonders g\u00fcnstigen Lage und bietet einen herrlichen Panoramablick<\/strong> bis nach Korsika.
\nUm dorthin zu gelangen, muss man eine Treppe mit einem H\u00f6henunterschied von etwa 100 Metern \u00fcberwinden, aber die M\u00fche wird durch die Landschaft reichlich belohnt. Durch umfangreiche Restaurierungsarbeiten, die aufgrund des bauf\u00e4lligen Zustands notwendig wurden, hat sich das urspr\u00fcngliche Aussehen der Burg erheblich ver\u00e4ndert. Ihre Einzigartigkeit liegt in der Bautechnik, da die Festung vollst\u00e4ndig aus Granit und ohne M\u00f6rtel oder Kalk gebaut wurde. Nicht weit entfernt befindet sich die Kirche San Leonardo, die urspr\u00fcnglich als Burgkapelle diente und ein sehr seltenes Beispiel romanischer Architektur in der Gallura darstellt.<\/p>\n
