VALLE DELLA LUNA

PIANA LI PARISI

With its peculiar and bizarre shapes, granite especially stands out in Aggius’ Valle della Luna (‘Moon Valley’). These granitic rocks date back to the glaciations of the Quaternary Period. They have been finely shaped and eroded by wind and water, resulting in their unusual and odd appearance which recalls that of a moonscape. Distinctive shapes are present, too, resembling animals and profile views of human faces. In this area, the most significant traces of the first human settlements can be found.

This fascinating place is enveloped in deep silence.
