OSCHIRI

This fascinating small town boasts a great prehistoric and Roman past, rich in ancient traditions.

The territory of Oschiri belongs to the new province of Olbia-Tempio, overlooking the Coghinas plain in the historic region of Monte Acuto. The old town is characterised by low houses and narrow stone-paved streets that offer a view of the valleys covered in holly oaks, cork oaks, and Mediterranean scrub. Oschiri is well-known for beef, Vermentino, cheese, and especially panadas, puff pastries filled with meat and herbs. This dish is the emblem of the town: it is also the protagonist of a local festival, which takes place in August at the same time as Gallura’s food trade show.

Oschiri is the perfect destination for sport fishing, trekking, and kayaking lovers.

Walk along the streets in the centre of Oschiri, enjoy one of its many cafés, and savour a panada with a glass of good wine. You can also spend a day discovering religious and secular buildings, following the traces of ancient stories in this typical hinterland town of Monte Acuto. Partially wild and luxuriant nature surrounds this small town on the shores of Lake Coghinas. It is a popular destination for sport fishing, but it is also perfect for birdwatching. Furthermore, canoe and kayak tours are available in summertime. Start exploring this village that safeguards long-standing values, and engage with an open
and welcoming community.
