FLORA

Gallura’s rich and luxuriant flora is the product of constant evolution, which resulted in the coexistence of a wide variety of plant species, including extremely rare endemic ones.
This characteristic is also reflected in submarine environments, where diversified plants ensure a broad variety of fish. In addition to holly oak and several cork plants (such as the cork oak), terrestrial environments host many shrubs, which contribute to the Mediterranean scrub: heather, rock rose, lentisk, holly, juniper, and myrtle – from which some of Gallura’s and Sardinian typical liqueurs and spirits are made.

Mainly comprised of Mediterranean scrub, the flora of Gallura offers some interesting gems.
