Pilgrimage routes across Sardinia enable visitors to explore the traditions and values of this region, first of all, the value of hospitality. Throughout Sardinia, religious celebrations and festivals are held according to ancient customs in a perfect mix of spirituality, culture, and nature. Specifically, country churches are particularly numerous in Gallura. The most renowned itineraries include the walking pilgrimage that leads from Calangianus to the cathedral of Nostra Signora di Luogosanto, winding its way through the hills among woods and traditional farmhouses. The pilgrimage of San Paolo di Monti is famous, too: it takes place every year in September along a path of about 20 kilometres starting from Olbia. Pilgrimages are also convivial moments which often end with the chance to taste local products, combining spirituality with sharing and local traditions.
