THE PINK BEACH OF BUDELLI ISLAND

Located on Budelli Island in the extreme north of Sardinia, the so-called Pink Beach is one of the world’s most beautiful beaches and takes its name from its distinctive sand colour. Its underwater Posidonia meadows are home to a population of micro-organisms which are protected by a pink shell. When they die, the currents drag the shells ashore, which crumble under the action of wind and water and give the sand its romantic pink shade. Visiting this beach is not possible at the moment due to environmental protection reasons. However, several boat or walking tours from the nearby beaches of Cala Roto and Spiaggia del Cavaliere are available which allow you to admire this one-of-a-kind wonder.

This beach, whose pink colour makes it unique, is perfect for snorkelling.
