Punta Balistreri, at around 1,360 metres above sea level, is the highest peak of Mount Limbara and is named after a fugitive who – according to popular tradition – took shelter here to escape his pursuers. To reach it, you must choose the path starting from the small church of Madonna delle Nevi: after a pretty simple initial stretch, it winds through the typical rocks of this region, whose unusual forms have been shaped by the wind. Once on top, Punta Balistreri offers a wide and diversified view of the surrounding nature, which is well worth the effort.
