Nowhere else on the island can these tombs be found in such a high concentration. Luras boasts four out of 78 total dolmens in the whole of Sardinia, located in the residential area or its close proximity. The main feature of many of these ancient monuments is their megalithic construction, which always prompts the question of how they could be built so long ago when technology and communication were much less advanced. They lie on granite bases which enable visitors to enjoy an appealing view of the towns of Luras and Calangianus as well as the surrounding area, including the mountains of Limbara. We recommend visiting these landmarks in silence to better contemplate their history.<\/p>\n
