The site of Community importance of the Mouths of Coghinas<\/strong> is characterised by a mostly fluvial environment since it encompasses the area of the mouths of the River Coghinas and the relevant coastline. This dune system is home to several native species, and the vegetation is mainly comprised of reeds and canes, offering shelter to over 130 bird species: a few examples include herons, seagulls, Western marsh harriers, kestrels, kingfishers, coots, and black-winged stilts. The water is mostly freshwater, and the only exchange with saltwater takes place close to the last section of the outlet.<\/p>\n
