Gallura is home to several bird species thanks to its diverse environments.
\nA boat ride along the River Coghinas<\/a>, for instance, enables tourists to even sight some migratory birds that come back from Africa in spring to nest. Lake Coghinas, too, is surrounded by Mediterranean scrub and provides an ideal habitat. Another interesting destination is the pond of San Teodoro<\/a>, where birdwatching<\/strong> enthusiasts will be able to sight several species, including flamingos.
\nLastly, the archipelago of La Maddalena<\/a> is an area of great interest, too, due to the presence of nesting marine birds. As a matter of fact, the passage between Sardinia and Corsica along the migratory route between Africa and Europe offers a chance to sight many bird species, both during autumn southward migrations and spring northward migrations.<\/p>\n
