Woodworking<\/strong> was employed to handcraft sober furniture and accessories in the typical style of the stazzi \u2013 the traditional homes of shepherds and farmers in Gallura \u2013 as well as everyday items. Wood was mainly left natural, although decorations were sometimes painted with colours obtained from plants. Traditional craftsmanship has been preserved in the art of intaglio carving<\/strong> employed for Buddus\u00f2 chests<\/strong>. Contrarily to the modest furniture of Gallura\u2019s homes, chests secured families\u2019 richness and were therefore exquisitely decorated with geometrical or natural motifs.<\/p>\n
