Gallura is home to several species of whales and dolphins<\/strong>, thus offering a chance to sight these huge animals and enjoy an exciting experience.
\nSeveral organised tours are available on boats which take tourists on this thrilling adventure. The best places for sightings<\/strong> include the archipelago of La Maddalena<\/a> \u2013 renowned for Caprera\u2019s famous canyon<\/strong> \u2013 Golfo Aranci<\/a>, Santa Teresa Gallura<\/a>, and Tavolara<\/a>: the last is well-known for the sighting of an albino sperm whale, nicknamed Moby Dick as a tribute to the namesake novel.
\nAmong other species, you can sight fin whales, sperm whales, Risso\u2019s dolphins, common bottlenose dolphins, dolphins of the genus Stenella<\/em>, Cuvier\u2019s beaked whales, ocean sunfishes, turtles, and tunas.<\/p>\n
