In S\u2019aldu pinzone, in the north, the shepherds\u2019 ancient huts were rebuilt: called \u2018sos cubones\u2019 or \u2018Cuiles\u2019, they consist of a stone circular base and a roof of interwoven branches which make them waterproof against winter weather. These scattered, small groups of rural homes were inhabited by shepherds until 20-30 years ago; nowadays, they are used as country houses by families who have permanently moved to the village. Close by, a stream flows and creates a typical scenery thanks to its waterfalls and thick vegetation.
\nIn Su fossu malu, on the border with Berchidda, you can find other spectacular waterfalls, which are several metres high. The area is particularly wild and you should explore it with an experienced guide.
