Precious testimony of the past, the wide necropolis dating back to the 6th century A.D. is a legacy from the Byzantine era comprised of late Roman tombs. This type of tomb is extremely rare, and these are the only ones found in Sardinia. The area also encompasses two Romanic churches, discovered during the excavations carried out in 2002 and 2004. The church was recognised as devoted to St. Lucy and bears witness to a valuable chapter in history: under its altar, many artefacts were discovered, including some Medieval coins.
