The lighthouse of Capo d’Orso, located in the territory of Palau, rises on a rocky formation and stands out for its white colour. This two-storey building, operational since 1924 and inhabited until 1970, has a rectangular plan and can easily be reached by sea, whereas you must walk along an unpaved trail to reach it by land. The lighthouse is surrounded by an evocative landscape where the green and light-blue shades of the sea prevail. It features in many legends: according to one of them, the coast of Palau would be the mythical land of the Lestrygonians mentioned in the Odyssey, where Ulysses disembarked in search of sustenance for his crew.
