THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK OF ARZACHENA

The ‘culture of Arzachena’, also known as the ‘culture of Gallura’, is defined as a culture built on megalithic circles that developed during the Neolithic Age in Gallura. The archaeological park features eight itineraries to discover Nuragic complexes, giants’ tombs – with ruins dating back even to the Bronze Age – as well as necropoles. The best-known is the necropolis of Li Muri, the most ancient site of Arzachena. Its funerary monuments, unique in Sardinia, are built of local granite.
